Rodney Jordan-ross made his transition on Saturday, December 6th, 2003, following treatment for Lymphoma. He was 51 years of age. Born on Shaw AFB, in North Carolina, Rodney Earl Jordan was raised in the military in England and Sacramento, California. Rodney came to San Francisco in 1972 where he established a twenty-year career with Southern Pacific Railroad working in data communications. Since 1997, he has traveled North America as a full-time classic RV'er with his partner and his beloved cat "bobbie ross". "Rodtney" had two long term relationships during his lifetime; the first as the dutiful "wife" of a Tunisian Jew, and the second as the proud slave, boi, friend, lover, domestic partner and husband to Phil Ross, who survives him. Their relationship was celebrated and shared in workshops all across America, including the National Convention of Black and White Men Together. Rod performed in a Middle Eastern Dance Company in San Francisco for 17 years as a male belly danseur. After his retirement in 1996, he became an Intuitive Crystal and Healing Touch practitioner and minister. He also served the HIV/AIDS community across Northern California as Co-Chair of the Mendocino Community Health Center Community Advisory Board, and as a member of the Mountain Counties Aids Consortium in NE California. He also received honors for his service at the HIV Drop-In Center in Clearlake, CA. To quote a lifelong friend: "He was a great person; you couldn't ask for a better friend. He gave and never asked for anything in return. I've never heard him say a bad thing about a person on this planet - and I never heard rodt complain either." This web site is intended to be an ongoing, and interactive, memorial to celebrate the life of Rodney Jordan-ross. All are encouraged to contribute stories, anecdotes, quotes and memorabilia.
